X700 mobility and powerplay

Hi I have the catalyst 6.1 ati drivers and for some reason my powerplay settings don't come into affect. I have them set on optimal battery but the active setting always shows max performance. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

It happens on some laptops, PowerPlay is disabled in BIOS. What laptop you have?

Hello. Also to me it happens, and this since some months... may be (but i don't remember) after having flashed the bios with the new version which includes the hyper memory function.
I gave a look to the BIOS settings but nothing related to the POWERPLAY.
I've an ASUS series A6Va and a X700 that now figures as a 256Mb Ram (128 own and 128 shared).
Some suggestion to solve the problem??

Thanks for reading.

Regards
