Then, near the bottom of the page, click on:
Individual driver download packages, ATI Multimedia Center, Avivo™, and Korean full package and download the Catalyst Control Centre package (download 2 of 3)

Then click on "Catalyst Control Center (English)"

This package will only install the ATi CCC. I personally have found that the ATI CCC doesn't like older cards, but some people have had luck getting it to work. If it doesn't work, you'll either have to find an older Catalyst Control Center, such as the one bundled with the Catalyst 4.10, or go back to using an old version of ATi Catalyst Control Panel.

Wow. Randomness you are my hero! For years I have struggled along with my igp 320m finding a little info here and a little info there only to be frustrated by not being able to get the most out of it or to try out a driver that would not work... Now I've found the wealth of info here and hopefully I can figure out a nice solution for myself. Thank you very much! I'll have to read over this thread to get a full grasp of what I should do but I was wondering if you could help me out some. There is so much info I'm not quite sure what would be the best way to configure my laptop. I'm not a computer super tweaker and my knowledge about such things is minimal so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. A little hand holding here would go a long way... From reading how informed you are about this chip I consider you the authority and would greatly appreciate your recomendations as far as how to get the absolute most out of my laptop. I don't expect miracles. I just want to be able to Run games like WOW and not have it look like garbage and also playback DVDs.

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 with the igp 320m chip and 1gig of ram.
I have 128m allocated for graphics and I've been using the standard driver all these years. I'm running XP but I read here that Vista is working better with this chip? I may upgrade if that is the case... The bios has never been updated and I'm not sure where to go to do that. Also, I'm not sure what else is important to update here. GART? I dont even know what that is...

Thanx again... You've given me hope that I can get a few more years of use out of my laptop.

I would need to know the exact model number of your Presario 2100. For example, my Presario 2100's exact model is 2197ca. You cna usually find this information on the bottom of the notebook where it lists warranty and serial number information.

If your system is using a Radeon IGP 320M, then it is likely you are using a AMD Athlon Processor. Do you know how fast it is? i.e. is it a Athlon XP-M 2200+ ?

I can't seem to set the UMA above 64 MB and I cannot find a BIOS update. The laptop is a compaq Presario 1500 (series PP2150) with 1GB RAM. It has an IGP 340M and a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz. Thanks very much for any replies.

i have a compaq presario 2100(2150us) witha celeron 1.8ghz 1gig ram and 340m set at 128megs. i am wondering if there is a World of Warcraft player that has figured out how to be able to play that can give me a walk thru to so my laptop will be WoW enabled. any info would be greatly appreciated

I was wondering is there a better driver that will give FFXI more fps?

FFXI now is playable with the driver i got but it has low fps.

No matter what other driver i find and try FFXI wont work.

I try catalyst 4.10 and it wont work or anything else it wont work.

Can anyone tell me where to find the abosoulte best driver i can use for this laptop?

my girlfriend has a Hp Pavilion ze5507ea (radeon IGP 345m)
A big problem, still there after a RAM upgrade from 256 to 512, is that win xp is damn slow, really impressive!
also on a fresh install!
could it be that the xp drivers aren't that good, and that slow down everything?
or should I search elsewhere the cause of this irritating problem?

I mean, also opening a notepad it takes some seconds...

hi, I would like to ask, at the very first page, under the point 1) games switching to a task bar, how can that be solved? I have the newest drivers for 320M I have found (6.14.10.6368, even though they are from June 03). But how do I know which application is making it swithch to a task bar? thanks a lot for the advice....
I have HP compaq nx9005 (so from the HW side, it can be coliding with touchpad-which i have disabled in the drivers section (Mouse-w/e Device poprs-diable), or "media" buttons...)

Your notebook is probably suffering from the same problem mine was. Goto Keyboard, in Control Panel. Under the "OnScreen Display" tab, uncheck all options. Restart your computer.

If you are still having trouble, try running the command "tskill onetouch" before launching your program.

If that doesn't fix it, the problem is possibly with another program, such as an antivirus program, or other memory intensive background task.

Double check and make sure your current bios has a similar KA.M version code.

Update your BIOS first ebfore putting vista on your notebook.

Also, many people run into Audio problems with Vista and this notebook. From past experience, i found using the ALI/ULi Audio WDM works best. You can get it from the ULi Driver package from here:

What BIOS version is currently installed? Some older notebooks aren't given enough address space towards the GPU to allow the UMA to go above 64MB, this is a hardware-specific issue that cannot be easily circumvented.

You need a modded driver that uses a minimum of Catalyst 5.10 for WoW to work. Although i have heard that the framerates are just barely playable.
DO NOT use a Catalyst version higher then 6.4. Please reference further (much further) back into this thread about information on this issue.

You may be able to increase your fps by using a slightly newer modded driver based on Catalyst 5.10 to Catalyst 6.4. Please reference back in this thread for more information. However i should point out that FFXI requiresDirectX T&L and Shader support, which the 3xx GPU doesn't fully support.

You can modd your own INF by inserting

"RADEON IGP 345M" = ati2mtag_RS200M, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4337

under the [ATI.Mfg] with the rest of the driver IDs.
If your are using Linux, i would recommend using DRI. Reference far back into this thread for the settings i used in my Xorg.conf

thanks for the help....did the thing with Keybord, unfortunatelly keeps doing the same... :-/ and not only once, I have to reload the game from the task bar twice, before I get into it... :-/ even the "tskill onetouch" command didnt help...ill try turning off all the processes one by one and launchung the game to see wheres the trouble...thanks for the help

I have a Presario 2108 CL and wondered the following:

I'm trying to use no$gba to emulate the NDS and it runs pretty poorly on my system. Obviously graphics memory and system memory are the problem (I have the default 512 MB RAM instaleld with 64 for the IGP 320M).

I wondered what you'd do- is it even possible to open this thing up and install another 512 MB of RAM (the screws you have to remove are pretty crazy, I think I have to take the speakers out too!).

I know it's probably not your area of expertise but thought I'd ask anyway, just in case.

Your driver is the optimal one for the 320M, correct?



Also, if anyone's having problems with these laptop's getting hot, I strongly recommend the Zalman NC-1000, best 40 bucks I ever spent (well, almost).

Yes the above updates would work for yours system, assuming 2175us is your exact model number, and you are using an AMD processor.

The video driver updates will increase 3D and AGP acceleration preformance in comparison with the stock driver.

The BIOS update will allow your system to accept newer replacement batteries, and fixes several minor bugs in the origianl BIOS code. I would recommend updating it, whether or not you intend to upgrade to Vista.

Upgrading your system memory is a lot easier than you thing. The Presario 2100 series notebook have a dedicated panel on the bottom cover.

Are you using the latest version of no$gba ? Version 2.6a has better 3D optimizations.
I would recommend buttering in the above mentioned ATi GART and HP drivers to make sure you have the most compatible OpenGL libraries avaialble.

What is the exact model number of your notebook? You can find this info in the BIOS, or on the service tag on the bottom of your notebook.

At first glance, it looks like the newest BIOS for your system is F.0D a dated for 23 May 2003. You can also find out your bios version by running "msinfo32" and loking at the "System Summary"

how do you know you have only OpenGL 1.1 support? Have you used OpenGL Extensions Viewer? (OpenGL Extensions Viewer) What does this program say is your main OpenGL renderer?

Which games are you trying to run?

Please reference back in this thread for download links for the modded 6.4 driver for the 3xxM chips, and try using it instead.

Hey Randomness and Alex, Man I've read this whole thread and noticed it went back to 2006 0_0 wow! The funny thing was I was installing the 4.1 then doing the 5.13 then trying this and that. Is there a final solution to doing this, if so can you provide a detailed or simplified instruction that would get a game like wow to work on my 345M IGP. I've been doing so much that I'd be glad to re-format my computer and do what you've guys have been stating but I get confused everytime I read the instructions on every page. Or is there a way for me to not re-format and follow a different set of instructions. I'm very confused about the Mobility Modder as well, I had the original drivers and I did what the modder said but as a noob at first I installed the latest catalyst, well not installed I just extracted and modded it. Am I actually supposed to install a driver then mod it? I'm really confused cause I dont have a Catalyst control panel like you've shown.
