Greetings and welcome to DH.

A few questions:

Which video drivers are you using?

Are they from your laptop manufacturer's official site?

Is the game patched up?

fully patched. i have the drivers from the notebook's website. any other drivers wont work for some reason. i just wish i had stayed with a desktop PC, they arent built the same and therefor work better for games. it took me months to figure out how to make KotOR I and a bunch of other games working.

Other drivers could work through modified inf files. (Look up DH's Mobility Modder utility if you haven't tried them yet). Unfortunately, some important features, such as proper video playback, could be affected if you use drivers other than the ones provided by the manufacturer. Give them a whirl to see if the official ATI ones will play nice with your laptop.

I understand your discontent with laptops and gaming. I had a laptop, but fortunately it died and I moved to SFF boxes. Small little bastards are just like regular PCs, but... smaller! Fortunately for laptops, with modern video chipsets like the mobile version of the 7800 GTX, official NVIDIA drivers can work them without any hacking/modding of inf files.

Let me know how it works out for you.
