??? Can't get external LCD to work on ATI Mob 9200

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-A295HP, which has a ATI Radeon Mobility 9200
I have just bought a new LCD from Samsung (204Ts) 20 inch and 1600 x 1200 pixels.
Problem is that for some reason I can't seem to configure Windows to use the new LCD.
The really strange thing is that the LCD receives a signal during bootup, and some time during login it drops the signal. I am running WIndows XP Prof SP2.
I have tried booting LINUX (UBUNTO) and then I have external LCD working.
It just have to be some software-part that shuts the signal between the laptop and the LCD.
I tried using BOOTVIS to analyse what exe's that were started and I am quite sure it is the driver for the ATI card.
I'm running Catalyst v4.6 I think, the driver version is 6.14.10.6458

I would really appriciate some help from somebody
Is it so that this is a limitation in the graphics card ATI Mob 9200 or what is the reason for this?

Can I somehow get my LCD working in Windows XP SP2?

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Thanx
Tobias
