Omega (5.12 based) Mobility x700 game issues artifacts and crashing

Hi I recently bought a new laptop (MSI M635) amd turion 1600mhz x700 128mb 1gig ram, 60gb hard drive. I installed the omega drivers (first by using drivercleaner to remove the old drivers) and for about half the games ive installed there are strange things happening.

In quake 4 after about half an hour of play, the polygons on models and geometry become all distorted and inverted and stretched, and in call of duty 2 the game crashes after loading before the graphics are rendered.

The card is not overclocked nor does it seem like it is overheating. These drivers seem troublesome for many mobility users. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me the best drivers for both performance and stability for my card?

HL2 engine games also have the occasional crash.

When using driver cleaner is there any manual tasks to do as well to remove the old drivers?

My system is very new and has no crap on it.

There are reported problems with those on X700s, including me. Try the official mobility 5.12s from www.ati.com

In addition, COD2 crashing after loading is a weird, but known issue. Try running in DX7 mode and see if that helps.
