Mobility Radeon 9000 incompatible with HD TVs?

I'm having real problems hooking up my Dell D600 Latitude to my brand new JVC 26DS6 HDTV via VGA (26" widescreen 1024x768 60Hz). I've updated the driver and bios, but I still have the same problem - a warped, and left aligned image which flickers horizontally. The settings on the card and TV are correct as far as I know i.e. resolution, frequency etc

The D600 works fine with e.g. a Samsung 19" ext TFT.

I have read on this forum that the mobility radeon 9000 is simply incompatible with new large screen HDTV, is this true?

Your thoughts appreciated...

System Specs

It's been mentioned occasionally throughout threads here relating to HDTV/TV display with computers in general to try Powerstrip - a program that let's you specify custom resolutions and refresh rates to match special display conditions.

Isn't the native resolution of your TV 1366x768? That would definitely be a custom resolution...

thanks for the reply swimtech,

According to the advertised specs the resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels, however the JVC manual says that supported resolution for connection to a pc is 1024 x 768. I will however try Powerstrip...
