Mobility 9000 + Omega 2.6.53 + standby?
I've been trying to fix a problem with Warcraft III and decided to try updating my video card driver. So, I downloaded and installed Omega 2.6.53. However, now, whenever my computer comes out of standby or hibernating, the whole screen is filled with this (I took a screenshot):
Restarting the computer fixes the problem and it doesn't happen when the computer is just sleeping so its not that huge of a deal, but does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
PS: sorry if this is a dumb question, im not extremely good with mmore advanced computer stuff like this
Edit: oh yeah, changing screen resolutions has no effect, other than the size of the boxes (higher screen res = boxes look "smaller")

Try resetting your in-game video settings to default - no AA or AF as well...

I haven't changed any in-game video settings at all (nor any other settings - I just installed it)
AA and AF meaning... antialiasing and anisotropic filtering? if so, I have those set to application controlled, which was also the default.

Looks like a driver compatibility problem then... Check the 5.8 Omegas when they are released.

I don't reccomand instaling Omega's on laptops at all; they have Mobility issues souch as this one, they don't support PowerPlay, etc... Try using regular Catalyst modded with patje's modder...

Samir has a valid point too... You may want to try reverting to the latest driver from your laptop manufacturer and see if you still get this problem.

See the thing is, I was having trouble installing the standard Catalyst driver, and ATI Tech support told me that they don't reccomend using Catalyst for laptops, and that many people have had success with Omega drivers. But I'll try patje's modder

Good to hear you got the standby problem sorted out. Persistance pays!
The difficult part about the different driversets with various laptops is that compatibility seems to be a crapshoot, even between versions of official or modded sets, and nobody (myself included) can put a finger on what will work and what won't - yet...

I have tried MANY driver versions with various Mobility chips; 9000, 9200, 9700, x600, Xpress200... Orginal Catalyst + patje's modder was the safest option so far, and it supported almost all features... With Omega's I even managed to fry one M9000
I'm not saying that Omega's are bad, they are perfect for all desktop based cards, but for Mobility use patje's !
