No standby on battery power

T42P Radeon Mobility Fire GL T2
Omega Catalyst 5.7 Drivers

My laptop does not go into standby when it is unplugged and on battery power. The screen goes blank but the computer stays on and does not go into standby (i.e. the moon icon). When it is in this mode I can't get it to wake up -- just have to reboot. When it is plugged in standby works fine. It just does not work on battery power.

The problem started occuring when I installed Omega drivers. I tried uninstalling (i.e. uninstall, safe mode reboot, driver cleaner, re-install) and that did not help.

Any thoughts?

This took a while but I finally figured out ATITrayTools was causing preventing standby on battery power.
