Upgrading? New drivers etc.

Hello!

I got an Acer TM 800 and wanted to ask some professionals
which drivers etc. I need to update to get my notebook running 'better'.

I already installed the new Omega Drivers but since then
I got problems when minimizing windows, which is now, after
the install, very slow. Seems weird to me. Bug?

Do I need to update chipset drivers? Do I need to update
my BIOS version? Or any other things?

Are there offical ATI drivers for my Mobility Radeon 9000?

Would be great if someone could help me in this!

Thanks so much!

PS:

Welcome to DriverHeaven forums Thasmo...

Was wondering, what procedure did you follow to unistall the previous driver version? And is the minimizing windows the only problem you have? There may also be a setting somewhere that is set differently from what you're used to - check your settings in Display Properties - Appearance tab.

Advicing Omega Based on Cat 4.12 for performance , and latest Catalysts for compatibility. For performance issue , Cat 4.12 is the best because its AI is too high according to another Cat. version's AIs(i mean in 4.12 image quality reduction is too much in AI high option according to others)

No there are not, and the only one garetd to work are the old and defunked
ones you will find at your laptop MFG's website...

You can try modding officails with the mobility mod tool, or useing other modded
sets and see if you have any luck. But anything other then what you laptop MFG
supplies isn't gareteed to work 100% and it not uncommond to see a few problems.
After all you useing drivers not made and customized for your laptop.

Indeed, a lot of laptops have trouble - as one example - playing Mpeg, AVI, and DVD movies when using the Omegadriver or ATI sourced driversets, and have for some time now. It's just something you need to be aware of and be prepared to try to sort out when using any driver other than the manufacturer's recommended driver - but for many that's the fun of it...
