x600 Mobility not performing well?

Ok I just bought my very first notebook, after a lot of research and comparisons on price and what not I settled on a Gateway 7510 GX as it was on for a decent price and had some really good specs:

AMD Athlon 64-bit 3700+
100GB Hard Drive
1024MB (DDR 333MHZ)
ATI X600 Graphics With 128MB Memory
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook Version

So I downloaded 3Dmark05 and benched it and it only received 1550...now the cpu I have now is a monster and I didn't expect it to compare to that, but I did figure it would do better then the above score. Is the score I'm getting correct or is maybe something wrong?

Also i was thinking of upgrading the graphics card to the x800 Mobility yet I can't find it for sale anywhere, is that because you can't upgrade a notebook video card or is it not on the market yet?
