Latest Catalyst/Omega Driver & Video Playback Issue

Does anyone know how to fix the problem where upgrading to the latest catalyst/omega drivers for the mobility radeon causes video playback to break? (I'm not sure if this problem is on Sagers only, but a lot of Sager owners seem to have the same issue).

I know I could rollback the drivers, but then modern games play poorly.

I know this problem has been discussed a lot here and there, but I read as many threads as I could find and I couldn't find the solution.

For those people with Clevo (e.g., Sager 5680) notebooks, it was a firmware fix. Trying looking in the www.talknotebooks.com, or just email Sager technical support and ask them for the patch.

Could you please post the link to the patch? I've not been able to find it and have no idea how long I might have to wait for Sager to respond. Thanks.
