MR9700 drivers
I'm a newbie and have read a few of the posts on this forum, so bear with me as I've no idea what the hell I'm doing...
I'm looking for a set of MR9700 drivers that are up-to-date and come with the PowerPlay settings. Currently, my clock speed is at 350MHz (is that normal?) and I installed a modded version of the Catalyst drivers using Patje's tool. This upped the frequency to 400MHz, but I still couldn't see the PowerPlay tab.
I had a look at Omega's Drivers too, but they don't come with PowerPlay do they?
What drivers do you guys recommend? I'm looking for a driver update which comes with PowerPlay and allows the graphics card to speed up and slow down (either automatically or manually) according to use.
Cheers

I think I have installed modded (Patje) drivers before on my 9600, and Powerplay was working just fine. Which drivers are you modding? Omega drivers support PowerPlay as well as far as I remember.

still no PowerPlay tab
I've installed the Radeon Omega Drivers 2.6.05a (Catalyst 5.1) and don't have a PowerPlay tab.
I had a look at the forums and notice that several people were having problems with this. Is there a resolution?

I will check when I get to my laptop later today, and see what I can come up with. Stay tuned.

much appreciated, thanks.
I'll be in hospital for the next couple of days, so don't think you're being ignored. I'll be back on Saturday.....

Ok, my lappy currently has omegas 4.12 installed, and PowerPlay is there. I am leaving for a trip tomorrow morning, anc won't have a chance to check whether 5.1 Omegas have PowerPlay issues, but here is a screenie:
As you see, PowerPlay tab is there, and it works.
Make sure that if you go for Omega 4.12 you uninstall the drivers and use Driver Cleaner prior to installing 4.12 drivers.

sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I am still having problems with the PowerPlay settings and now with Gericom, the manufacturer of my notebook.
Gericom have advised me to install the latest drivers from OmegaDrivers.net, which I have done - but still don't have access to the PowerPlay settings.
They have said that this is not a problem and that PowerPlay should be working automatically in the background.
What do you think?
I'm a bit concerned that if PowerPlay isn't mentioned anywhere in the graphics card properties, then it follows that my graphics card is running at full performance all the time, even when not needed.

Have you tried using driver cleaner and such (preferably in safe mode), to make sure you are cleaning out all the leftovers from the old drivers and registry?

yes, I've tried all that. I've even tried various versions of Omega's drivers but all to no avail.
Do you think it might be something to do with the BIOS of the notebook? There are no options that directly refer to the graphics card, but is it possible that flashing the BIOS could solve the problem?

Have you ever had powerplay enabled at all on your video card?
Does the card get properly detected when you install the drivers?

well, the drivers provided with the notebook work fine. The graphics card is recognised and functions perfectly well...

Is there a BIOS update or anything and does Gericom tell you about actual hardware PowerPlay support? It should be supported on the hardware level before software.
To repeat my question... have you _EVER_ seen powerplay on your laptop? It may be that Gericom "forgot" about it some place .
