Cannot install drivers for Mobility Radeon HD 4570 on Win XP 32 bits

I have do the same way as you with may laptop sony it has Ati mobility radeon hd 4570.
but I have the following message that setup havent find any compatible driver for my material or my Os
help help

dsalim1969: did you try the link I gave above (myDisk.se)? You can download the driver I am using there and that works for me.

If it still doesnt work, check your device serial number as I described above.

dsalim1969: I uploaded the modified inf file. Be aware that I am not sure if it will actually work or not. If you cannot boot after installing, you will have to use safe mode and uninstall the driver for your card.

You can update the next files to avoid (Display driver) setup.exe shows that error.

(My XP drivers are dated 090422 and donwloaded from Asus page)
1.- In Driver folder you should edit file install.ini. Set your Ati card ID updating one of listed. If your card is Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4570 ID is 0x9553,0xFF801179

File after update. I replaced the original ID for my ID

2.- CX_78232.INI in driver folder
Do the same procedure

3.- As written in previous comments add in file Driver\XP_INF\CX_78232.inf
your card 'description'

Add next text to the list
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 " = ati2mtag_M9x, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9553&SUBSYS_FF801179

4.- Launch setup.exe. Driver will be installed. Then you can run main setup.exe to install catalist, HDMI ...

It worked for me after couple of attempts.

1. Downloaded the oldest driver (tried new driver and did not work) from asus for F50SL
Version V8.551.0.0
Description ATI Graphics driver
File Size 169.66 (MBytes) 2009/03/06 update

2. Replaced just the SUBSYS number in the .inf file under XP_INF
3. Installed driver using Windows Harware update wizard by choosing the inf file myself.
4. It overwrote some files and completed successfully.

First of all - thanks for this great post forman! Really saved my ass..

I have the amd-version of your comp (l500d). Here's my experience regarding the different drivers:

Display driver:
At first i thought, that i wasn't able to alter the F50SL driver myself because i had the same error message over and over again. I later found out that in this case (and also the drivers from toshiba.com) the installer included didn't work out that well. The windows driver-guide is the way to go! Just tell it to look through the folder containing the altered file.

Audio missing:
I installed the toshiba realtek audio drivers, but quickly found out, that no sound was present. Also i still had an unknown device called Smbus-controller. Solution: chipset driver - of course i wasn't able to install the chipset the same way you did it, since i have the AMD-version and not the intel. I searched for hours to locate my actual chipset version - to my suprise it all went smooth, when i finally found the thing in the game-section of AMD's website. Look for the individual drivers in the middle of the screen. (you have to unfold Motherboard/Integrated Video Drivers)
Finally. Sound works.

AHCI:
This was tricky as well. I originally installed my xp 32-bit with my own pro-cd, which i had slipstreamed to sp2 (to recognize hd). I found out, during installation, that i had to swap my hd-style from AHCI to compability in the BIOS to avoid bluescreen. For xp to support AHCI i found this thread which told me to copy paste a sys-file to my system32/driver folder and then add a few lines to the registry. Remember to unzip the rest of the zipped files, which comes along with the sysfile! You will need it after rebooting!

Reboot your system. Swap BIOS back to AHCI-mode and - voila! No bluescreen! Xp booting just fine. On xp load you will get promptet for a few drivers from the zip-file and that's it.

I have this file on my drive
the XP_INF\CA_87736.inf

So i cant really change it. I have this writen there

"ATI Radeon HD 4570" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9598&SUBSYS_30011043

Can u please please help I use this computer for work and I cant work because of the downgrade. But because im using a old software I cant also upgrade :S

Can u give me some advice?

Please submit more details. Did you use the F50SL driver as we did? And what version? It seems that only the oldest one works (try downloading forman's files - they should work). Did you skip the included setup-file? (use windows new device guide and tell it to look in the folder containing the altered file).

Hey sorry for the delay.
But i found a way to install the driver for the graphic card. I followed your advice and installed the driver manually and it worked. I had to make some gynastic with the files but all went good. So thanks for this post It worked for me

Now I have a problem with the wirelless Drivers for my Toshiba... I installed Intel drivers and I guess they arent correct so I must try the ones from Realtek does anyone knows wich Wireless drives to install in a Toshiba L500 13W? Im using Win XP 64...
