Hi, sorry to jump straight in here with my first post, but this problems driving me nuts!
Ive followed all the instructions here:

but for some reason, my ATI driver is showing the old version;

dated the 07/04/2008
Driver version 8.477.0.0

yet if I use the
start-computer-vista-ATI-SUPPORT- route it points to the update driver 8-12-VISTA64-dd-ccc-wdmenu-72276


Is this because somewhere along the line Ive not installed the driver correctly as instructed, or is the computer manufacturers programing still blocking me from updating the driver still?

Im using a Toshiba Satellite Pro,
Intel (R) CORE (TM) 2 DUO CPU T9400 @ 2.53 GHz
3.00 GB RAM
with the dreaded Radeon HD3470



Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Crewie

I ment to add, I have the Rfactor driving mod installed on this pc and it works fine, yet Im trying to use an older driving sim, Hasbro NASCAR Heat, and for some reason that mod seems to have various car parts and track parts missing from view, the track parts appearing from no-where when you get close to them.
Any questions Ive asked into this have all so far been aimed at a problem with the graphics driver.

Did you uninstall the previous driver before installing the new one and run a driver or registry cleaner?

Ahh, no I didnt.
I wasnt aware that I would have to un-install the previous driver, I simply thought that the new one would over-write it....I'll give that a try.

I tried un-installing the previous driver, then installing the newer updated one, but on doing this, and rebooting the pc, I just kept getting the message that my pc didnt have a card to support 3d graphics.
I system restored and got my pc back to how it was before, ie with the old version driver.

download the ati catalyst 8.11's and try them

Glad you got it sorted Bro and always uninstall previous drivers if you never have ... then you do not know what is in your registry
