??? ATI Overdrive Non-Existant for Mobile Users?

I have been reading about this tool and found that I would very much like to use it. I don't like manually overclocking because I really don't know what I'm doing. The problem is, the tool does not show up on CCC. I am wondering if there is something I am doing wrong (I've installed all latest drivers with the modder) and if there is any workaround available. I know that this subject was brought up a while back, but it received no answers. I hope we have some new brains here that know how to do this.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Windows Vista x64

On mobile platforms the cooling isn't as good as it is on desktop products so that's why you don't have the overdrive function because it would void the warranty and cause damage to the laptop itself.

hey Karmac0de, looking at your specs, i noticed you have an Asus laptop that i currently have on my wishlist lol

can you please tell me how good it is, specially when running games?

i've seen that one on Newegg i think for $999.99, and i have this one on my wishlist too
Newegg.com - ASUS M51 Series M51Ta-X1 NoteBook AMD Turion 64 X2 RM-70(2.00GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 3GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 - Laptops / Notebooks

my question is, is it worth paying the extra 100 bucks for this one, or is it ok with the $899.99 one?

thanks in advance

PS. sorry for my intrusion, never really thread-jacked before lol

Thanks for the explanation temeteus.

And Darkman, it's no problem although it would have been better if you PMed me. As for the question, yes the extra $100 dollars is definitely worth it! Not only is the processor faster, it also has a much larger (double!) bus and cache. The screen can display higher resolutions (1440x900) As far as the RAM goes, 4 gigs over the 3 will only give you an advantage if you get a 64 bit OS. I bought Vista x64 here at the college I'm attending for $15, but it would be quite a bit more expensive retail. But just the processor advantages alone makes the extra hundred bucks worth it.
