Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

First I got some questions for you, I need a bit more information to trobule shoot this issue.
Did you got a cd-rom with the display? What is the operating mode of the display?? Is it in clone mode or extended desktop?

yes I have got a cd with the display have 2 setup files one is signed and another is unsigned for windows and Vista. I have disabled UAC to run the cd but it made no changes...

My display is a little bit old... it is a Viewsonic VA2012W 20" wide
I used CCC basic to make this LCD as my main display and non-second display.
My laptop's screen is 15.2'

So you can't set the external display as primary display??
When you set the external display in extended desktop mode can you get the native resolution to work on it?

I found this on my userDuide.
Does this mean that my HD2600 is able to display 1680*1050 on an external LCD?
Display Controller and
Modes
Display controller
The display controller interprets software commands into hardware commands
that turn particular pels on or off.
The controller is an advanced Video Graphics Array (VGA) that provides Super
VGA (SVGA) and Extended Graphics Array (XGA) support for the internal
LCD and external monitors.
A high-resolution external monitor connected to the computer can display up to
2048 horizontal and 1536 vertical pixels at up to 16M colors.
The display controller also controls the video mode, which uses industry standard
rules to govern the screen resolution and the maximum number of colors
that can be displayed on screen.
Software written for a given video mode will run on any computer that supports
the mode.
The computer’s display controller supports all SVGA and XGA modes, the most
widely used industry standards.

It means that the maximum resolution on external screen is 2048x1536 pixels. So it is able to output the resolution that your external LCD has as it's native resolution.

Do you think my labtop can only use a non-wide screen? because it does not have 1680*1050

No I don't think so. When the maximum external resolution is 2048x1536 pixels then the 1680x1050 pixel resolution fits in that maximum output.

I am trying so hard...now I have 1600*1200 and 1920 1080 in my display setting options however, I can not use 1920*1080, it made my LCD out of range.
see this:
Video Modes
The computer supports video modes defined in the table below. If your application
offers a selection of mode numbers that do not match the numbers on the
table, select a mode based on, resolution, number of colors and refresh rates.
Table Video Modes
CRT Display
Resolution
Color Depth
(bpp)
Refresh Rate
(Hz)
800*600 16bpp 60, 75, 85, 100
32bpp 60, 75, 85, 100
1024*768 16bpp 60, 75, 85, 100
32bpp 60, 75, 85, 100
1280*8001
1. Only for WXGA panel
*Only External Monitor can perform change of
Refresh Rate (Hz).
NOTE: Some of display mode might not be supported
depending on the external monitor
which you use.
NOTE: If you are running some application (
for example a 3D application or video playback
and so on), you may use some disturbance,
flickering or frame dropping on your screen. If
that occurs, adjust the resolution of display,
lowering it until the screen is displayed properly.
You could also disable Windows Aero™ to
help correct this situation.
