x1400 mobility w/vista 32 bit noob question

ATI Radeon Mobility x1400 256mb hypermemory
Dell Inspiron 6400
2GB Ram
Vista 32 Bit

Hey,

This is probably a real noob question but can i use the mod tool to use the omega drivers for XP, seeing as the Vista one's arent ready yet?

Or can you suggest which drivers to use for Vista with my card? i couldnt find the desktop version for the x1400 at Ati/AMD and am not entirely sure which catalyst drivers support my card. Shouldn't have any problems installing, i just wanna know which one's may have a slight chance of improving performance without cocking up my laptop.

Cheers in advance.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven.

About the first question you are going to use the Omegas XP drivers in Vista? Since the Omegas are already modded there is no need to mod them.

You can use the mod tool to mod there drivers : AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities for Vista. Remember to read the instructions on the modtool site.

Get the mod tool here : http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/

Well as far as i'm aware there are no Omega ATI drivers for vista, so i presumed that the XP one's wouldn't work at all but perhaps i'm wrong?

So just to make sure, i can use the 8.2 driver from the link using the mod tool and it will work with the mobility x1400.

Sorry if i'm being dumb and cheers for the link.

Thanks

Yes the XP driver don't work on Vista since Vista has totally different way how the drivers work.

Yes you can use those drivers
