ATI Radeon 9000 Lagging

Hello,

I am running a Dell Inspiron 600m on Windows XP Home SP2. When I play games (e.g. NBA Live 2005, Madden 2004) I will have periods of perfectly fine gameplay, followed by periods where the graphics become choppy and the game lags. This cycle will repeat, typically ~ 5 minutes on, 5 minutes off.

I tried the Omega drivers, and the ATI 6.11 drivers with the mobility modifier with no change. Any suggestions with be hugely appreciated.

Thank you,

explosions.

System Specs

i have that GPU and can say that its generally crap. even basic games lag. but the worst comes when the CPU or GPU or both get to their overheating points. the CPU throttles down to try and keep from cooking itself and the GPU when too hot just gets unstable.

what is the rest of your system spec?

my laptop has
2GB DDR 333Mhz
Intel P4 HT 3.2GHz
Radeon 9000

this thing feels like a hair dryer
