Can't install "OMEGA 3.8.252" on "ATI Mobility 6" on "Gericom 1st Supersonic A380"

Anytime I install any graphicscard driver my notebook freezes.

I have the
Notebook "Medion MD 9703" (aka "Gericom 1st Supersonic A380" aka FIC 360) from 2002:
CPU: Intel Pentium III 1200MHz
Chipset: VIA VT82C694X Apollo Pro 133A
RAM: 256 MB (Tested overnight with MemTest36 with 0 errors)
DirectX: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Graphics Processor Properties:
Video Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon M6P
PCI Device: 1002 / 4C59
Bus Type: AGP 4x @ 4x
Memory Size: 32 MB
GPU Clock: 166MHz (original 166MHz)
Pixel Pipeline: 1
TMU / Pipeline: 3
Vertex Shaders: 1 (v1.1)
Pixel Shaders: 1 (v0.5)
DirectX Hardware Support: DirectX v7.0
Pixel Fillrate: 166 MPixel/s
Texel Fillrate: 498 MTexel/s

Memory Bus Properties:
Bus Type: DDR
Bus Width: 128-bit
Real Clock: 166 MHz (DDR)
Effective Clock: 332 MHz
Bandwidth: 5312 MB/s

Hardware-ID:
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C59&SUBSYS_19301509&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C59&SUBSYS_19301509
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C59&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C59&CC_0300

I have done a BIOS Update to PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0, reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) and installed VIA 4in1 chipset driver package 4.43.

Device Manager doesn't show any graphics card but marks
->Other Devices
->Videocontroller (VGA-capable)
with a yellow warning.

When I installing any graphics driver from this point on, the notebook freezes:
Driver from Medion.de: installation ok / PC freezes after reboot
VGA Driver from Gericom: PC freezes at installation
OMEGA Driver 3.8.252: installation ok / PC freezes after reboot
New OMEGA Driver: PC freezes at installation
ATI does not offer any drivers for the M6P

After installing the OMEGA Driver 3.8.252 the Event Log shows a lot of red warnings.

MSinfo32 (System information) shows a conflict under
->HardwareResources
->Conflicts:
IRQ5 Videocontroller (VGA-capable)
IRQ5 VIA Rev 5 USB universal Hostcontroller
IRQ5 VIA AC'97 Audiocontroller (WDM)

The chipset driver package consists of 4 drivers:
- VIA Registry (INF) driver
- VIA AGP VxD driver
- VIA ATAPI Vendor Support driver
- VIA PCI IRQ driver

The user manual from Gericom's 1st Supersonic A380 wants me to:
"Choose the option: install AGP 4x/133 driver in turbo mode"
But when installing the VIA 4in1 chipset driver package 4.43 there is no such option, so I guess I didn't install this specific driver in turbo mode.
Could this be the problem?

Kind regards for any help.

I see that the M6P offers DirectX Hardware Support up to DirectX v7.0.
But I have DirectX 9.0c installed.
Could this be the problem?

My Audio- & my Video-Controller both share IRQ5.
Could this be the problem?

When I say freeze I mean:
I see the picture on the monitor frozen, but can't move the curser or type with the keybord or anything.
The CD-ROM-Drive does still open though (LEDs are flashing as well). Freezes occur during boot-up or within 10 seconds after Windows has loaded. In safe mode there are no freezes.

I'm dying for to find out what could cause my driver problem.

So, if I've missed a good standard solution for my problem or if you're not in the mood to make detailed suggestions a link would be very appreciated as well...
