Xpress 200m new problem with ATI 7.12, 8.1 & Omega 4.8.442

Hi! I'm totally new here, but I did try searching for memory issues before posting...

I use Second Life, sloooowly, usually around 5-8 fps. When I got the ATI 7.12 driver suddenly it jumped up to 15 fps and I was astounded!

But after ten minutes or so in any area with more textures (art gallery, store, etc.), it started slowing and lagging, I saw the fps dropping and dropping in a matter of seconds until it was 0.8 fps and I couldn't do anything!?

It turns out if I tell Second Life that there's less video memory and restart, it happens almost right away.

The ATI 7.11 driver doesn't do this, and I was hoping 7.12 was just a fluke that would be fixed. But today I discovered 8.1 does it too, which is when I found the Omega driver, which also does it.

I found a "texture console" thingy in SL which shows a green bar and a bunch of numbers I don't understand overlaid on the screen. But when these new drivers get bad, that green bar has gone past yellow, and is filling up red.

So I guess I'm asking, is there anything that can be done maybe with all the controls of the Omega Tray Tools, that might get it to keep working properly instead of dying?

(In the meantime, I'll try to figure out how to remove the Omega drivers so I can go back to 7.11 again... I already read one trick for removal in these forums thanks!)
