Video Flushed out in Vista

I recently upgraded the operating system to vista on my laptop which has ATI mobility radeoon X700. The video playback looks flushed out and there is no gamma control option video section of the Catalyst Control Center,I am using the latest drivers(7.10). Is there any patch or way to rectify this problem.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven.

Today ATI/AMD released CAT 7.11 so you might try them. As far as I know there isn't gamma correction in CAT's in vista. What program you are using to play videos? WMP11? I've used Media Player Classic and found no issues with it. I'm using X1950Pro (PCI-E).

Teme, I have to dispute your contention that there is no Gamma control in Vista. You may have to click on the Reset options in the Color Section of CCC in order to activate the control. But, with the new 7.11s, I just tinkered with Gamma adjustment and it's working fine under Vista.

Now, as for the mobility cards, I have NO IDEA as I don't use any mobility device at all. So, I'm going to move this to the mobility driver section and hope that someone there can be of more assistance.

Good luck!

Thanks Dyre. I'll stand corrected. I don't use that option at all since I'm using DVI-I cable to my LCD. So I don't see any problems with gamma. But if I would need to tweak it now I know how. Thanks.

What program are you using to play the videos? Have you tried various ones?

Also, have you tried downloading the AVIVO application? It can be downloaded separately from AMD/ATI.

Ati Tray tools might do the trick. And it has tool for gamma and other settings.
