ati mobility radeon x1400 128MB +128MB Hypermemory

Hi

I have just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro which has an ATI mobility radeon x1400 128MB +128MB Hypermemory graphics card. I would like to upgrade my drivers but the only ones I can find are the OMEGA drivers however I don't know which ones to use. I looked at their website and am not sure which driver version to use. My current version of the catalyst centre is 1.2.2180.38582.

Pls could someone give me the link to the correct driver, and also if you have upgraded this graphics card driver did you notice a reasonable improvement in performance? If so do you have any tips on tweaks as I do enjoy playing a few games and would like to get the most out of this card (I know it aint the best for gaming but have to work with what I have).

Thanks for your assistance.

Eden

solution

Hi mate, no one responded so I went and did it myself.. first you gotta go into control panel, then add remove programs - then remove the ati catalyst control panel or simply remove the ati catalyst uninstall file -don't restart.

Then I went to OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the Omega Drivers for ATI & NVIDIA desktop/laptop cards. By: Omegadrive then chose my graphics card then OS and downloaded the omega drivers. Then I ran the exe installation.. restarted my laptop and thats it...

These drivers are great, and work very very. all the games which were runnign slow with drop outs in frame rate are now smooth.

good luck.

Hi there you two and welcome to DriverHeaven.

Like xxinfinityxx said it's the best way to get omega drivers installed. But if you are looking for drivers from ATI/AMD you need to go to your laptops manufacturers support site to download the drivers. Since some manufacturers don't want to ATI/AMD make drivers for their laptops.
