compaq 6820s ati mobility X1350 howto

I made this thread because i spent hours on finding video card drivers for windows XP concerning the radeon mobility x1350 How I got mine working.. after all it was really simple I downloaded the omega drivers. Go to your hardware tab in system properties double click the video card and copy the "hardware id" of it go to the omega driver inf file and search for mobility radeon x1400 there you found it, it says mobility radeon x1400 = xxxxxxxxx where the x's are the hardware id of a x1400 card i deleted the hardware id and pasted the one i copied from system properties in windows add new hardware thing, point to the inf file you just modified it will find you video card as the x1400 but that doesn't matter, just go ahead (maybe you can change the x1400 in the inf file and make it x1350 .... and it prob be ok) restart you notebook and you'll see it has got the 1440x900x32 resolution please don't mind my english, i know it's bad, just to help a few of you out. cheers Leon

So this post goes only for XP drivers. What about Vista drivers. I bought my Compaq 6820s with vista, and with external display and extended desktop laptop is doing some crazy stuff. Display flickers (sometimes on laptop display and sometimes on external), and when you wake up the computer from sleep it sometimes looses resolution.
I tried to install ATI Catalyst 8.11 and when I start installation after running mobility modder, system let's me know that something is wrong with the installation and that program must shut down.
Can somebody help me with this? I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate.

Thanks
