Acer 5670 running Radeon Mobility X1600 experiencing TV-Out problem

I'm running an acer Aspire 5670 with a Radeon Mobility X1600, I've got the latest catalyst and I'm running the latest drivers I can. Apparently the current mobility Installation Verification Software, found here says that my current equipment is incompatable. I've tried it with the following cables:

Acoustic Research High Definition Cable
JVC High Quality Video Cable

I tried the Acoustic Resarch Cable on my machine with an adaptor to fit in the Video in port, and the JVC on the machine in the SVideo port on the TV, both did not work. It isn't the cable: my PC's X1600 works just fine with both cables, so I'm fairly certain that it is something up with my laptop's drivers.

Can anyone suggest drivers or additional help?

Also, to skip the questions found elsewhere: Force TV detection is checked, expand desktop onto monitor is selected in both Catalyst and the standard windows screen.

Also, is there a way to use dual monitors on my monitor out port?
