Problems with Photoshop caused by Driver?

So i have CS3 now, and when i click on a menu, it opens a 2 row, VERY wide box, with no text.
I had a similar issue of lack of text in the menus with CS2, but Adobe said you needed to install the most up to date drivers.
Well I have Cat 7.5 on here that I just installed, and damn thing Still doesnt work. Im using a 9600 mobility from Dell, so maybe thats the issue, but I just dont get it!
Do you think i should uninstall/reboot/clean/reboot/install/reboot again to see if something got stuck? its really hard to use photoshop without menus!
