"Could not load file assembly" error message launching CCC
[COLOR=black]Following error message appears after installing Catalyst 7.2 and launching Catalyst Control Center[/COLOR]
[COLOR=black][/COLOR] [COLOR=black]Could not load file or assembly 'CLI.Implementation, Version=2.0.2589.34531, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.[/COLOR] [COLOR=black][/COLOR] [COLOR=black]If you experience this issue, please try the following steps to resolve. If the steps do not resolve the issue, please PM me.[/COLOR] [COLOR=black][/COLOR] [COLOR=black][COLOR=#333399]This can happen if you uninstall / reinstall or do an upgrade of CCC, IF certain assembly files are not properly GAC’ed during install, or removed from the GAC during uninstall (.Net “global assembly cache”).[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][COLOR=black][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black]Uninstalling CCC, and then:[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=black][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=black][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black]1. Check that (Program Files folder )/ATI Technologies/ATI.ACE is empty[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black] [/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black]2. Check (Windows folder)/Assembly folder to see if there's any files with Public Key Token of "90ba9c70f846762e" (Sort by Public key token to get a easier view). All these tokens should be uninstalled by right clicking and uninstalling.[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black] [/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black]3. Check that (Document and Settings)/(User)/AppData/Local/ATI/ACE is empty[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=black][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=black]4. Reinstall CCC[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=black][/COLOR]

OK I have received feedback that these steps dont work.
Please try the following and let me know. If you delete the wrong registery key, that is your problem. Please be diligent and backup your registery before completing these steps. If you are unsure, then the registery is not the place for you to be. [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399]1. Check that registry locations are empty:[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399] a. HKCU/Software/ATI/ACE[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399] b. HKLM/Software/ATI/ACE[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399]2. Check that (Program Files folder )/ATI Technologies/ATI.ACE is empty[/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399][/COLOR][/COLOR] [COLOR=#333399][COLOR=#333399]3. OK, Just to let you all know that I was also getting the same error message when I tried to upgrade my driver!! I followed CrossFire's instructions and can confirm that this did work on my gaming machine running an X1950 gfx card... Thanks all....

This enabled me to install the 95 catalyst ccc and have everything work.

AGP is getting to be old technology but we do see a few members with issues regarding it.
I see two replies here indicating that this worked and leaving the thread open in case it can help others. (Normally we would close older threads resurrected) EDIT: No further discussion .... closed
