Ati Mobility Radeon 9000
When I play games like counter-strike or madden on my laptop, the game screen only takes up a middle portion of the screen...around the game screen is all black. Until recently, I didn't have this problem. I would just play a game and the screen would expand to the fill the screen no matter the resolution. I was wondering how I would fix it. I went into BIOS and changed the video expansion of native resolution to enabled. However, when I log back in to my administrative account on windows, the setting I just changed changes back to disabled so I have the same problem again. In my guest account though, the game screen does expand to fill the whole screen. Please help me! Thanks.

Welcome to DH.
Take a look in the control panel, I think its under monitors and make sure "Fit to screen" box is checked. If you can't find it, post back and I will take a look when I get home to tel you exactly where it is. Good luck.

OK, open the control panel, under the "displays" tab -> select the monitor or LCD -> under the Panel Attributes box, makes sure the box for "Scale image to" is checked.

I have a similar problem. I recently installed Mobility Modder 1.1.1. When I checked "Scale Image", it worked. However, everytime I reboot or log off, the black sections came back. I have to manually check that box again. Is there a way to fix this permanently?
