Help with Ati MMC and Easy Connect

From reading the title you might not think this belongs in the drivers forums, but i think its what causing my problems.

I have 3 computers with ati video cards.

1. a p3 1ghz and a 9000 aiw xp pro
2. a amd 2500+ and 9800 pro xp mce
3. a hp laptop p4 630 and x600 mobility xp mce

I installed 6.5 on the 9000 aiw and all other things listed under the mmc downloads. (remote/dao/dvd/encoder/mmc)

ati listed older drivers supported for the 9000 aiw

installed 6.8 provided by ati on the 9800 pro and all the mmc items listed above.

installed the latest omega drivers 6.7 on the laptop (cursed hp and there 2+ year old video drivers) and all the ati mmc items listed above.

Now i can start up the tv on the 9000 aiw and I can use easy connect on the 9800 pro to connect to the 9000 aiw threw the network to watch tv on the 9800 pro.

however when I go to use easyconnect on the laptop it says Unable to start TV.
The tv player failed to initalize. Check the windows device manager to ensure that the correct video driver has been installed and is working properly before attempting to restart tv.

Now for the questions:

1. Has anyone gotten easy connect to work on their laptops and run tv threw the network. I really would like to have "location free tv" wirelessly on my laptop.

2. If so how

Thanks for your help
