Installing Catalyst to my X1000 MR9200

I have never tried to update my video card driver except from the HP website but I'm really desperate now cos I can't play Guild Wars Factions smoothly at Full Resolution and it worked smoothly back then. The driver from HP is really outdated and they're not using the ATI Catalyst as the driver.

I've been scavenging info about installing catalyst onto X1000 but seems like they all encounter some kind of problems or some sortand doesn't really have guide on hwo to install for newbie. I need help from you guys as you are very experienced on this field. I did want to try installing Omega Drive but worried that it would cause some problems.

Please do help me, I don't care which version of Catalyst as long as it works with Guild Wars Factions and doesn't cause any problems when installing it. All I need to know is guide on how to install or what should I do before installing new drivers like uninstalling previous drivers or not. What should I do if the newly installed drivers not working and all newbie stuff.

The best I can tell you is Omega 5.6, any later than that and you'll get a garbled LCD image. I've been using this system for years now, both HP and ATI have given up on this system.
