E-MU 1820 channel routing

I have a strange problem with my E-MU 1820:

Channel 1 and 2 are at 1L and 1R, but channel 3 is at 3L instead of 2L. Is this a bug or do I have to change the internal DSP routing somehow?

Also I don't get any output for channels 4-8.

Yes this is the way it is currently. We'll have to wait and see if Eugene fixes it.

E. If you are around, is there any comman line trickery that you could let us in on for the mean time to remap the outputs or perhaps configure some basic signal routing

It would be very handy to be able to route the the two front inputs directly to the spdiff out as we could connect that to the spdiff in on the motherboard and use an aggregate device to get recording out of the dock while we wait.

I guess this depends on edsp commands...
please have a look at edspctrl source code and check the assignment of the inputs/outputs...

Re: E-MU 1820 channel routing

Ok I had a chance to have a look into the edsp source and whipped up a little GUI for some of the things I need, like muting the main outputs when using headphones ect.
It's very basic (I've never used xcode before) and is just a front end for "kxctrl -sfpga" which Eugene has kinda included for us.

I have very little scripting/programming knowledge, especially on the osx platform so don't expect too much, but I will try and figure a way route the front inputs to spdiff out so we get a workaround to recording through the dock(via onboard spdiff and agregate devices)in osx.
I'm not even sure if it's possible through programming the fpga alone.

hi Kez! a good tool you've written here - thanks.

btw, do you wish to try Objective C programming?
I have an SDK for OS X ready, it should be possible to write a simple ObjC E-DSP control application easily - do you wish to participate?
If yes, drop me a message (kxproject.com/contact.php)
for GUI-based E-DSP control, you will need X-Code, the header files and the library
InterfaceBuilder should do most of the GUI code for you

E.
