Anyway, its a great thing what you're doing.
try the following:
1. install the driver
2. check that audio is ok
3. in terminal, unload the driver
(sudo kextunload /system/library/extensions/kxaudiodriver.kext)
- may need to type this twice
4. check with kextstat that kxaudio is no longer present
5. put your PC into sleep state

does this fix the problem?..

Yep this will perfectly get the answer straight... (I was thinking these guys should try older builds too whether it fixes the problem or not)

Shutdown and Stand by issues were given by these dudes
Morfy tungmeister (click to read what they said) but this problem is best described in this thread itself (cauz others just reported in short way) Anyways, I've given your quotes in the page. Too high volume is looking too close to issue number 3 of mine (where there is high treble) while some people use different words to describe it.

My old post: Added 2 new issues (OpenAL + Logic Crash) [edit: yep its remote]

Yes Sir, definitely does. After kextunload the machine sleeps to S3 state, and wakes up without any problem.

I try to describe what is happening with kx driver loaded:
After i command the sleep the HDD-s are powering down, monitor shuting off, power led turning off, but the fans are not.
Waking up is not possible from this state. does not react to any input nor to the power button, just reset or forced shut down.

Thank you, i hope i can contribute to fix this problem.

I also have another problem, it might be the one, to wich other people reffer as kernel panic. Its a quick freeze, the soundcards buffer its repeateadly played out. My display does not shows any kernel panic message. If i remember correctly it happens for example loading movie with quicktime, or vlc, or just browsing in itunes. It happens around twice a day.

Re: Sleep to S3

Just found two new issues When you play AC3 or any 5.1 Media, turn to your headphones, it will play "Left and Right surrounded" (no human voice if watching movie). EDIT: I have a feeling this has something to do with your dsp

Next, at times there are sudden volume hike (loud) and could damage speakers as bass is like 200% (distortion)
EDIT: It appears that when a music with "Loud" beats touches the peak volume or goes beyond peak, bass distortion starts... till the music is soft (50% - 75% volume), there is no bass distortion. [using 1.1b0 as b1 is Kernal Panic release ]

Re: 1.1b1 driver bugs

1.1b1 in 10.5.1 with 1820m.

Sound works and I can use logic.

Something is amiss with the gain/volume though. Like I barely have my headphone output above 0 and it's very loud and quite distorted. If I pull the volume slider down to almost nothing in the menu bar, I can turn up the headphone knob to about where I normally have it in windows with EMU driver.
It however sounds very lofi like cheap converters, thin, tinny, harsh with no depth or bass.

It kinda sound like when you play 8 bit samples though a 16bit sound card. Tinny and aliased.

Or maybe pushing a 24bit stream though a 16bit hole, like bit's are being truncated somewhere. That would explain the huge volume increase and distortion..... but I'm just guessing.

I wonder what exactly is the reason for the issue.
The next driver build will come with certain DSP effects disabled. Pls confirm if this fixes the problem.

Quote:
[B] 4. Streaming Media not playable (aka Real Player Bird Twitter)
These are probably related to Leopard 'Sound' preference issue. At the moment I cannot reproduce/fix them.

Quote:
5. Shutdown/StandBy Issues (some people report their systems no longer shuts down)
Should be fixed in the next driver release. I cannot test this because my system does not support power management properly.

Quote:
6. Starting Logic = Kernal Panic (only on 1.1b1, b0=OK)
This is related to generic panic issue with 1.1b1.

Quote:
7. Games with OpenAL not playable (eg Quake4) (openAL installed, 1.1b0 & 1.1b1 confirmed not working)
What openal driver are you using?

Quote:
8. CoreAudio Fails on VirtualBox (PC Emulator for osx virtualbox.org)
What are the error codes? Any console dumps? etc. etc. etc.

Quote:
9. Headphones play surrounded channel when AC3 or 5.1 media is played
Is this confirmed? Which card? Where are headphones connected into?

Quote:
10. Sudden Volume increase with bass distortion when Audio crosses stable peak boundary (eg. intro music 30 sec stable and then drums crossing boundary of peak and bass distortion starts)
Quite strange bug.. probably related to #3.

E.

If it helps, I have no problem running logic with 1.1b1, provided my my initializes properly.

Sure

I found that ASX (streaming Windows Media format via Quicktime) is playable without any problems (bbc news radio works ) Maybe this is RealPlayer streaming specific problem? Another dude HaTaX confirmed not having problem with streaming radios (HERE)

This was reported on InsanelyMac (twice) so included it here Although the game can be found there (you know where )

Quote:

Straight after installation and setting up new VM and starting it, it said "CoreAudio failed to load" with some sun specific error code. It did not show this again (after restarting VM or PC) and sound never came either. This is kind of cool app because not all USB devices are supported by apple and this app captures those through virtual windows. I will reinstall OSX but currently my MBR (boot) is spoiled by Vista ugly format install

Quote:

Audigy2ZS (035x) yet not confirmed by others (only me so far). The headphones were connected to my "headphones port" only one in my system (in front). kX for Win works perfect here

in #3, the "thin" sound or whatever you call it, is present all the time while this bug comes only when volume exceeds certain peak (85% - 100%) ... I will upload a sound sample music so other may confirm....
