Which distro is the easiest to get ATI drivers working on ?
I have an All In Wonder 9700 Pro. I like it in windows but because I could have been running good drivers all along in linux, I nearly regret going with ATI>
I have never had ATI Linux drivers working yet. What is my best chance ? Do you notice a snappier desktop in 2-d and GIMP, mplayer and all of that or is the improvement strictly based on 3-d and gaming? Thanks, B. |

However, I haven't finished my current Gentoo update with X.org 7.0, so I can't say if it will still work nicely. I plan on using r300 opensource driver anyway. In any case, fglrx works OK with X.org 6.8.2.

There's an Unbutu or Gentoo (can't remember) all-in-one bundle out there which includes ATI and NVidia driver sets. Google it maybe? I read about it yesterday but can't seem to find the link.
