where can i buy linux...

hey i only got dial up connection so i cant download linux cause its like 1.8 gig

does anyone know where i can order some free linux cd's,, obvisously ill have to pay for postage.... prefably in australia...

Try your local bookstores, quite often the various Linux mags have cds with the basic, (downloadable) versions of distros on them. Dunno what they'd cost there, I pay about 14.95 US for the British mag Linux Format which comes with a DVD full of goodies and some nice articles....

thanks for the late response,,, but im gettin it sent to me from canada... my bro downloaded it for me plus hes givin me photoshop... plus lots of other free software...

what distribution is he sending you?
depending on your state I could send you an Ubuntu Linux CD set - you can get them for free form the ubuntu website - but be prepared ot wait a few months for them to arrive!

thanks for the offer but i got redhat9, fedora core 3 and some other crap one froma magazine.... Only problem is installing them... check out the other threads i made in linux section

download it just use a download manager
hey i've done it on 28.8k dial up so at 56k you have no excuse
