Sorry for the title lol those of u though it was it was offensive anyway. As you cantell im new to linux and i just d/l the 3 iso on a 56k line and it took forever. Ok i got the frist iso burned and ready to go and i wanted to see what the intallation would look like. I put in and it loaded i hit enter for a fresh install. But the screen stays black, so i went back and ran the lowres still no go and the same with the noprobe option any ideas? I know my moniter is getting a signal should i switch vid cards?

What distro did you DL?
Try switching cards out, but you might have got bad ISO's <the horror>
If you want I can mail you a set or you can go to cheapbytes.com. Back in my 56k days, I spent a week trying to get a good copy, then my friend's dad told me about cheapbytes, they're pretty cool.

If u wouldnt mind sending me a copy of the ISO's when i got them i could ship u so CD-R's since u used yours? just and idea. Yeah 56k sucks! Ill b getting Cable here shortly prolly a month and ideas where to pick a cheap yet good cable modem?

Oh sorry by the way it as the Red Hat Null beta but really any current Red Hat or Mandrake distro would be fine or whatever u recommend the best cause i dont much about which one is better
