Yeah, i assume there is nothing wrong with your Xwindows system.

Using the new ATI drivers? they are *experimental* try running the card under VGA or Vesa compatibility mode.

You may have to adjust the cards dot clock to be within the parameters for your monitor. This is in XF86Config... heres a page on that...

XF86Config info... may be useful

Hope that helps.

Also if your card has several outputs, the glitch may be in that it is sending the output signal to the wrong one... although this would be very strange. I would hook each one up and test to see whether you get an image.

Good luck

Maybe could be the output problem but i don't have a DVI to VGA converter so ....
The monitor is well configured, xfree runs without problems in a voodoo 3 3000
i think is a problem with the drivers because once i start "startx" i have to reset
to get something on the screen ( Ctrl+Alt+Backspace doesn't work )
I will continue trying .... and thank you

C-A-Backspace doesn't work?...hmmm... well is it just the Graphical console that fails? What about the text based ones? (A-F1-F6)

But i'm sure you've tried that already...

Good luck... and i'm sorry but i don't know enough about the linux ATI drivers... ( Voodoo3 here myself)

Finally i got it ....... but it is not a clearly solution, after editing XF86config in many ways, using a Riva128 (PCI) at the same time.

The solution is to click a ok ( or cancel ?¿?) button in a window that couldn't be seen ( because the blank screen ) once clicked the screen comes to life and it is possible to exit xfree and enter again without problems .... i want to know if it will continue working after a reboot

You meen the X86 test screen? You know, you don't have to go through that... you can just set the properties manually. Lol, i thought you couldn't load it up period... but if its just the configuration tool then you should be ok? right? LOL

note the *should* there... i'll be waiting to hear from ya again, (or if i don't hear, i'll assume everythin went ok )
