Advent 7082

Hi everyone, I have Advent 7082 laptop that i have some problems with, each time when computer wants to read anything from hard drive it freezes the system, basically as long as the HDD light is on you can't do anything, even move the mouse cursor. Any ideas what can causing that??? I think it may be the drivers problem, but i can't find any over the net. Anyone knows where i can find drivers for Advent 7082??? Maybe someone know what type of motherboat is used in the Advent 7082???

I'd say you're on the right track thinking it is a problem with software (maybe not the drivers, but...). Try disabling any software in the Startup folder and turning off Antivirus/Antispy software while running your unit without being connected to any network (including a modem) to see if the problem changes - might help to narrow down the cause...

Is it possible that the removing of EISA Utilites may cause that problem???If so, how can i bring it back???

One more thing : Is it ok when graphic card, modem and sound chipset is on the same IRQ??? I forgot to mention that even music at the start of Windows is cracklind really bad and it gets even worse when trying to play any game.

hi everyone, can anyone help me? my daughters advent 7082 wont move from blue startup screen, mouse or keyboard wont input into password box and have tried pressing f8 as well as all the f keys. when turned off by power button it hibernates. please help coz she needs course work thats on it.thanks mark11
