I need help. I just got a new laptop, and I made sure to find one with ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 so that I can play World of Warcraft. It came with 256 of RAM and I just added 512 more. It is crashing like crazy. Sometimes I can get on for maybe 25 minutes or so, but generally it crashes when loading. It is a 2.6mhz processor, with plenty of RAM and an approved video card, what is going on? I have lowered all the graphics as low as they will go. Sometimes the program crashes, sometimes the system crashes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried going to ATI's site for a new driver, and it sends me to the manufacturer's site. I have downloaded what they have but it is still crashy. Any new driver's out there for this card? Or is it probably something else all together? Thanks!!!!!!

Try using any other 3D games based on OpenGL or DirectX. If you don't get a crashing problem with other 3D apps, then it's not your hardware.

Try to find out what is causing your system to crash in the game, and work around it. I've heard of such problems as jumping and spinning rapidly (which has since been resolved) that can cause the game to crash, so it may just be the quality of programming in the game itself.

You might want to try another set of drivers as well. You can give Omegas set a try. These are the latest (pretty much) set of ATI drivers, and have been modified to support mobility processors. One thing to note as well: The Mobility 9000 graphics chip is part of the IGP chipset. This means it's intergrated into the system, and therefore is sharing your system ram. What I would do is to go into the laptops bios, and see if there are any settings that would allow you to increase the amount that is set aside for the onboard video.
