No AGP on HP nc8000 laptop - slow games
I've got a HP nc8000 laptop with a Radeon 9600 Pro Mobility 64MB.
When I play certain fast-paced games eg racing games such as Flatout or Colin Mcrae 2005 the game stutters at certain parts and is very smooth on others (ie in slow-mo). "Slow" games eg. RTS games like Warhammer 40k is fine. Have tried reducing the graphics details to the bare minimum in Flatout and it still stutters at certain parts.
I did a bit of digging around and found out that AGP has not been enabled on the notebook, according to SMARTGART and Sisoft Sandra (under Video Info).
In SMARTGART the AGP mode is set to OFF (laptop supposedly supports 4x AGP). When set to 1x/2x/4x and rebooted, it goes back to OFF.
Can someone shed some light on how AGP can be enabled? Have tried latest Catalyst 5.2 drivers and also the latest Omega drivers (currently using).
