Using Windows XP SP2 and Speedswitch 1.4, I sometimes have a problem where the computer hangs for about 3 minutes when trying to open/close a program. I then try to open another page/ program or use control/alt/del and nothing happens except an hour glass symbol for about 2 seconds. After about 3 minutes, all the pages/ programs I tried to open suddenly open all at once.
I have noticed Speedswitch XP sometimes shows a realtime speed of 97 Mhz when computer is not hanging (Usually shows 600 Mhz min.). I'm unable to determine CPU speed when the computer hangs due to unresponsive system. Is this a CPU malfunction, a Windows XP malfunction, or does it have to do with Speedswitch XP?
If anyone could point me in the right direction, perhaps I can hunt down an answer. I'm running a laptop with a Pentium M "Banias" 1.7 Ghz chip. It's still under warranty. Was shipped back to manufacturer but they did not fix it. They said they did a motherboard swap.
Thanks in advance.
