Latest Omega Small Bug Report W/9600Pro Laptop
I've got an Athlon64 3400+ Laptop (VoodooPC) fitted with the Radeon 9600Pro 128Mb GPU.
1- I am experiencing a bug where if I OC even slightly my GPU thru Radlinker (or any other app for that matter) the video won't recover from a stand-by state. The screen (desktop) becomes all garbled and is barely visible. If I don't OC at all, I've got no problem recovering then.
2- When playing UT99 (OpenGL) and if AI is set to high, the game stutters like hell. No problem when AI set to normal. Also, the brightness is way too low when entering the game and I have to reset it everytime I start the game.
3- SmartGuard automatically sets FW to ON although FW on my GPU is not supported natively. I've got to manually set it to OFF.
That's it for now folks

I used to be able to OC my mobility Radeon 9600Pro 128Mb from 351/189 to 360/207 without any problems with the original ATI drivers that came with my notebook. And I'll repeat once more that the only problem I've got with the Omega is with the laptop going in stand-by mode. When It comes out of stand-by, the screen is all garbled when the GPU is even slightly overclocked. This is not a normal behavior.

If I'm not mistaken that is one of the problems with the omega drivers. Coming out of hibernate mode or standby mode will look weird and stuff like that. Or I it just hibernate mode. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Does anyone know if the Omega drivers (2597_beta) will work on the Windows XP Pro 64bit Edition on a Athlon64 Laptop + Mobility Radeon 9700?
The ATI Catalyst BETA 2 does not work with these mobile products with the Windows XP Pro 64bit Edition OS.

thats because they are 32bit drivers, windows xp 64bit requires 64bit drivers, which as far as i know, there are no modded drivers available, the best ATi drivers you can get for that are the AMD64 betas in the Radeon Display Drivers forum.

Well, I have FW on, by default on my 9600Pro (turned on by default using Omega drivers).. If I'm not mistaken, the 9600 version is one of the only models that FW works correctly.
I've never had any problems with Fast writes ON.
