pentium 4 hyperthreading issues

I have a laptop with a 3.0ghz HT P4, but the only way I can hit 100% processor utilization is with more than 1 program running. Even doom3 will only take up 50% of the processor. Is there a way to fix this or should I take the time to reinstall windows without hyperthreading?
thanks

System Specs

can you please only open one thread which concerns you're problems only.this only confuses all other members to which have replied to you're requests in different forums of the same topic.also this is not considered normal practice on the driverheaven forums.

thanks.....thread closed.
