Laptop screen flickers

Hey guys, I got a new Mitac 8050 laptop (purchased through ABSPC) with an ATI Radeon 9700 Mobility and for some reason whenever the laptop is plugged in, the screen flickers randomly sometimes yet when its on the battery this does not occur.. anyone have any ideas as to why? Thanks!!

could be poor shielding from the AC line… the transformer may be slightly damaged - try a different power adaptor
