boot up screen resolution

I recently installed the omega drivers on my dell inspiron 8500 which has an ati mobility radeon 9000 32mb. I dident see much of a differance so i uninstalled them and tried the mod tool. The modded catalyst drivers gave me better results so I stayed with them. But now when I restart my computer during the dell screen and windows boot screen its at a very low resolution its like a little cube and once windows loads it goes to the login screen it goes to 1280 x 800. I went into my bios and ajusted it so it stretched it back to normal and I exited out and saved settings. Then on the next restart its reverted back. Is there anyway to make it so it says permanent. My bios are all ready up to date and it says when I try to reflash them that I am about to flash my bios to an older version and that dell does not reccomend it although I have the newest and I am trying to reflash to the newest but I still dont want to really screw it up.

edit nevermind i found out it was a setting in the ati control panel under the displays tab, in panel, called scale image to panel size and that fixed it. you can delete this thread.
