Satellite a215-24757 Slow Booting time
Alright, I've about had it with this Toshiba laptop that I am attempting to repair. Essentially here is the issue. Before, the laptop was running on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. Customer was experiencing terribly slow boots to the OS (about 3 minutes give or take) and when I received it I was also getting lock-ups at the desktop. Memory checks out fine as well as the HDD. Temps are good on the processor so I kind of ran out of things to try hardware wise. Next, I booted in safe mode backed up all of their files and asked them if they just wanted me to try a new OS install. So I threw in a nice new copy of Windows 7 64-bit (since once I actually get this problem solved they want 4GB of RAM pending that the laptop is not a total wreck). Now we have a brand new OS and after the painful process of installing the drivers for the vid card (DriverHeaven's mobility modder doesn't include support for the X1200) this lap top is zooming everywhere. However, we still have the problem a few days later that the laptop is booting painfully slow.
any thoughts? I don't work with enough Toshiba's to know if this is a known issue or not and researching the problem has yielded nothing. all the specs for the laptop can be found at the link below: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3886
