Need help for SONY VAIO VGN-NS25G

Hi All,

I bought a Sony Vaio laptop last week.I wanted to install win XP and remove the pre-installed vista that comes.
But,after going through certain forums-i am now worried on how could i get all the viao applications,all drivers,etc that are needed for XP.

I tried creating recovery discs in Win Vista from start->Programs->Vaio Recovery center on to a DVD which is 4.7 GB in size.
Is the size 4.7 GB enough for the recovery process creation? Or should i get another DVD?
I am actually not clear with what does the recovery process do?
**Can we create the recovery discs on to an external USB drive? I couldnot find any option for doing so in the system.
I have external drives and they are huge in size-so no memory issues.

Also,is there any other step that i need to do before i install XP? Please help me.
I wanted to know how could i take (backup or store) the existing installation files for all the factory programs,drivers that the machine came with?

Exact Model: No:----On the bottom it says model is PCG-7517P, on the front of the laptop (corner of the screen) it says VGN-NS25g.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi
i don't think the back up recovery can be put on the flash it is better to create a dvd of it
recovery discs is will be good to keep a copy of it so if u do not get through u could back to it
to install xp
only if the sata driver is incorporated within the xp disk only then it will work normally xp does not come with these drivers because the sony laptops have sata hard drives u can download these xp on torrent or
download the tools like BartPE this tool can help u to install
after installing xp
looking for the drivers it will be a bit hard to find other wise it should be fine
