Re: Downgrading sony viao vgnfw235j to xp pro sp3 32 bit
even if you do happen to downgrade to WinXP 32bit successfully, the OS wouldn't read the whole amount of RAM available on that notebook... so if you were thinking of installing a 32bit OS that can read the whole amount of RAM, try Server 2003 EE... using TweakNT you could make Server 2003 act (and look) like XP does and have your whole amount of memory read by the OS. the drivers form XP can be used on Server 3002 without any problem. many manufacturers specify their drivers as XP/Server 2003 compatible. i heard nVidia don't do that, but the XP drivers will work just fine under Server 2003...
![]() anyway, here are the drivers for that notebook of yours... ![]() Sony Visual Communication Camera XP Driver: Sony eSupport - VGN-FW190 - Software Updates & Drivers (the driver is for Vaio VGN-FW190, but many people have used the same driver on other FW series, and the driver seems to work on the whole FW series) Bluetooth ALPS-UGPZ9-BCM2046 XP Driver: ALPS UGPZ9 BCM2046 Download - HP BTW Drivers Rocoh Memory Stick Disk Device XP Driver: Sony eSupport - VGN-FW190 - Software Updates & Drivers (this is a registry patch, so that the memory stick device has basic system functionality under XP... read the instructions at the bottom of the site on how to properly install the memory stick device under XP) Ricoh SD/MMC Disk Device XP Driver: R141246.zip - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage NOTE: don't try to install the drivers automatically, first extract the archives with Universal Extractor and then point XP driver update to the directory where the extracted files are... this is the safest way to install the drivers... and automatic install of the drivers may cause other devices not to function correctly...

Re: Downgrading sony viao vgnfw235j to xp pro sp3 32 bit
no... physical address extension (or PAE), will not work with XP... it will only work with Server operating systems, even though XP will claim that PAE is active, the amount of memory read by the OS will be below 4GB (somewhere between 3.25GB and 3.75GB, depending of the amount of other devices you have attched on your system and the amount of address memory each of them require).
