Once this is done everything works fine. I loose anything I was working on that was not saved. Re: Aspire 7702z

I can't find any info on the model. What are the hardware specs? When did you buy it? When was it made?

Does the problem occur in certain times when you do something specific or does it happen if you are not doing anything at all too?

Remove the battery and plug the laptop in the mains. Work like that, does it still do this shut down? If not, then it is a faulty battery or problem with the connection between the battery and the laptop.

If it still has the problem it might be an over heating problem. Does the keyboard or the under side of the laptop get much warm to the touch? Try to place the laptop on 4 "legs" so that it has plenty of airflow from all sides and from the bottom and see how it goes. If this works and you have the laptop in a dusty enviroment or for more than 6 months then you might need to open it and clear any dust inside it.
