DELL 1501 shutdown / restart issues
I have the above mentioned model of laptop and i have a problem with it.
I installed drivers from DELL's site Drivers & Downloads and i figured that the driver responsible for SB made my laptop restart / shutdown in 10 min. Instead of it i used the one from AMD's site AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities Everything was smooth again on a new windows install, of course. I installed Bitdefender, restart - all fine. I updated Bit and when i hit restart - same issue: the restart took off in 10 min. I wrote an email to guys at Bit - they still haven't replied. Anyway, i started searching the net to get help for my problem. On a site someone said it had unistalled the latest ATI driver & instead put on Catalyst 7.4 & everything went smooth. Unfortunately, it didn't worked for me. Ok, i turned to Omega Drivers - installed those: nothing good turned up. If someone asks how do i know that graphics driver is to blame for all this restart / shutdown in 10min. issue - well, when i don't have a driver for my graphics card & hit restart/ shutdown, the system performs normally. It restarts / shutsdown like any other OS / computer. In the second i install a graphics card driver & must hit restart for the installation to be finalized, well, the system hangs again for 10min. or more. Because of this shutdown hustle, i use hibernate on my laptop for it to close quickly. On one ocasion when i opened it from hibernation, the system hanged & a BSOD appeared with the message: Driver ati2dvag.dll made your system to enter a continous loop & windows had to be shutdown in order to protect itself. I need help in this issue. Does anyone has an ideea what to do ?

Re: DELL 1501 shutdown / restart issues
I made a change: i installed KAV & surprise: the first thing after install, it detected a trojan tt was using some ports. It deleted it with all its clones on drive C:\ and when i hit the RESTART button everything was going smooth again. I couldn't believe my eyes tt a virus was to blame for all this hustle & especially tt BIT didn't detect anything.
