Sound screwed up in Battlefield 1942

The sound is all screwed up when I play Battlefield 1942.All the voices sound like chipmunks. My laptop has a Yamaha AC-XG sound card in it.Anybody know if there are any updated drivers for this card or any help on how to fix it?

Check that hardware acceleration is disabled in the options menu for Bf42.

Well laptop sound cards are never that great.

Go back into the sound options, there are three options for sound quality, 11khz, 22khz and 44khz, I believe. Try each quality and see if you still have the same problem.

I only got options for 22khz and 11khz.I was on 22 in the first place then I switch to 11 and it made the sound even worse.Still no luck. Thanks anyways.

I got my eye on this Echo Indigo sound card that plugs in your pc card slot.Maybe this will solve my problem.
