System Specs

EMACHINE M6810 laptop
I have a chance to pickup an EMACHINE M6810 laptop for 350.00.

Athlon 64 3200, 512 RAM, 55GB (?) hard drive, CDR-DVD ROM (burns Cd's, plays DVD's),wi-fi internet card, chargeable battery...

This would be for the wife, who mainly surfs Geneology sites and such, and doesan't do any gaming.

It would be replacing and old Sony that is running a K6-III 550, and using (shudder) Win ME.

Anyone have thoughts/input on this puppy?

I have one very similiar to it, gave it to my daughter after I went to Japan a couple of years ago, after E-machine switched their support I just put it away, then just recently gave it to my daughter and she does her MS Office things on it, Powerpoint etc.. She and I have no complaints, although I heard the LCD was a bit wobly becaus the ribbon cable can come loose, and of course the CD/DVD drive was a bit buggy, I had one replaced under warantly for about 80 dollars labor...it runs fine.
